Maggie was our miss the box no matter what I did girl.
I finally figured out she did not bend her legs to go, so she would pee out of the box. Poor little one, thought she was in, but her little rear was not. I got a storage box with nice tall sides. Well, little girl would not jump in it.
We ended up using a extra large plant pot saucer for a litter box. Maggie was abandoned, so we didn’t know her age, she was kind of creaky, although she did jump on the sofa? We used hospital pads and washed them and occasionally disposable puppy pee pads.
I had a client and her cat always peed out of the box. She had a covered box and she always peed standing up too. She loved the storage box with high sides we used as a litter box, no problem. Of course her old box was old and very well used, so she may have liked it since it was clean.
**If your cat suddenly stops going in her litter box, there are a few things to check, have you changed litter? moved the box? anything different?
Kitty may have a medical problem, please get her to your Veterinarian.
