If your first guess is next to the litter box, you guessed wrong.

Us humans have a tendency to think like a human, what a surprise. When we have cats in our lives we need to think like a cat when we decide the placement of the litter boxes and food and water. 

I don’t eat in my bathroom and neither should your cat. They have fourteen times the sense of smell that humans do. Their litter box should be separated from their food and water.  Mine is on the other side of the room. And if you remember one of our cats made us do another litter box for him in our bedroom. Also, this is a good time to remind you one litter box per cat and maybe one more. We have three cats and four boxes now. 

Their food and water should be separated to, a little bit will be fine. 

Feed or water your cats in glass, ceramic or metal. Plastic is not good for us or them. You can never truly clean plastic, it absorbs the things you put in it. 

Do give your cats a scoop of wet food everyday. You are not spoiling them, you are keeping them hydrated.
